EVS SOLDER RECOVERY

SYSTEM FILTRATION UNIT

ENHANCED STAND ALONE FILTRATION (SAF) SYSTEM

A new High Power Stand Alone Filter with twin inlets and a retrofit Filter upgrade for existing Stand Alone Filters.

The High Power Standalone Fan Filtration Unit

This unit has two Air inlets, one for the main body of the machine and one for the hopper filler hood to create a negative pressure in the loading area reducing dust and fume creation.

Advantages

  • The replacement of 2 Filters by a single more powerful filter for the full spec EVS/2000/3000 and EVS/4000/6000 machines reduces the capital cost of filtration system by 40%.
  • The new high power fan has twice the airflow of the previous fan and maintains optimum flow for much longer from both loading hood and EVS.
  • The new filter has two inlet vents and maintains high airflow through both simultaneously or be adjusted to divert airflows to either inlet.
  • The option to replace the Hepa Filter with a EU9 Bag Filter increases substantially the filter area and improves the airflow and longevity whilst maintaining a high standard of air exhausted back into the atmosphere.
  • Combined with the repositioning of the machine extraction vent to the front underside of the EVS nearer to the dross chute, this improves the airflow through the EVS and dust capture is much improved resulting in cleaner internal surfaces and easier maintenance.
  • A new redesigned Drop Through Chute also improves the ejection of spent dross and significantly reduces dust creation within the machine.
  • The combination of all of these advantages results in a much more effective fume and dust extraction unit ensuring that the air in the local working environment is entirely unaffected by the operation of the EVS.

Conclusion

The combination of enhanced software and redesigned air flow and dust capture improves all aspects of the EVS working practices and makes the EVS the premier solder recovery system available in the world today. With its unique simplicity of operation and high recovery rates the EVS gives fast payback, pure solder quality and enhances your company’s ability to attain and retain ISO 14001 the corporate environmental standard.

Configuration

The filters used in the standalone filtration unit (see Figure 1) are as follows:

a) Pre-Filter 275 x 275 mm EU3 specially constructed unidirectional filter media. ( fit blue side up )
b) Filtreat Pad 245 x 245 mm EU6 electrostatically activated unidirectional smoke particulate filter. (fit green side up)
c) Bag Filter 250 x 250 x 100 mm EU9 pleated bag filter specially treated to hold 50% more solids.
d) Carbon Filter 250 x 250 x 116 mm Impregnated deep bed split into 9 equal cells. Specially constructed moulded polypropylene with bonded material membrane. Weight approximately 3.3 kg.
e) Air flow 83cfm (41.5 Each Inlet)

High Power Filter -Fume Filter Replacement

The fume filter is replaced by undoing the latches holding the top of the Stand Alone Filtration unit. Remove the top to expose the filters. Taking care not to disturb any particulate accumulation gently remove the filters depositing them in a sealed plastic bag (NB: these are to be disposed of as hazardous waste). Seal the bag before replacing the filters with new product.

EVS 2000/3000 & 4000/6000

Recommended Filter Replacement is as follows:-

Normal Working 1 - 3 Wave Single Shift Heavy Duty Working over 3 Waves or 2 Shifts
. Pre-filters Cleaned Weekly Replace before week 2 Replace weekly
. Filtrete/Smoke Filter Cleaned Weekly Replace before week 10 Replace before week 4
. Bag Filter Cleaned Weekly Replace before week 18 Replace before week 14
. Carbon Filter Cleaned Weekly Replace before month 18 Replace 12 - 18 months

IMPORTANT NOTICE

PLEASE REPLACE THE FILTERS WITHIN THESE SCHEDULES AS INCORRECTLY MAINTAINED FILTERS WILL BLOCK THE AIR FLOW TO THE FAN. THIS WILL CUT OUT ON ITS SAFETY PROTECTION GREATLY REDUCING THE FAN LIFE AND INVALIDATING WARRANTY.

These figures are advisory and will vary with adherence to cleaning and service schedules and on fluxes and processes in use at each location. No Clean Fluxes and Low Solids may extend the schedule above.

Weekly Maintenance Schedule

Each week please vacuum each filter in the filter stack and inside the EVS. This will greatly enhance the effectiveness and longevity of the filters and pay dividends in the long run.

ALL FILTERS ARE UNIDIRECTIONAL -

PLEASE REPLACE IN CORRECT ORDER AND ALIGNMENT

(Refer to Figure 2 Page 3)

WARNING : When the filter is removed from the machine please remember to wear

gloves and mask. Then it should be SEALED in a plastic bag and

disposed of safely.

Fuse replacement

The Stand Alone Filter has its own 2 amp fuse for electrical protection. This is housed in a small push out fuse holder located just above the on off switch.
